Font from light by Marcus Byrne

Marcus Byrne has recently released an original typeface by photographing the light patterns from an iPhone.

Titled ‘Phone Streak’ and available for free, the unique font has been downloaded over 16,000 times on Dafont and its YouTube video is fast approaching 50,000 views. It went viral and has been featured on sites including Mashable, Wired, PSFK, and Trendhunter plus The Discovery Channel’s (Canada/USA) Lucas Cochran covered the project on his show, Daily Planet.

Designing a working font and investigating the possibilities of 3D printing have always interested Byrne, so he went about creating an idea that incorporated both passions.
