Marni Franks on textile design and running a creative business (Part 1)

It is with absolute delight and almost tears in my eyes that I announce the official launch of Creative Fuel. This crazy idea and dream to actually go into the lives of practicing creatives to see where they work, how they work, what environment they create in, and what fuels them on—is actually happening.

After many months of planning and preparation, there is now a little Creative Fuel team with our videographer, emerging designer Hanna Mathilde, and myself. So far, we’ve had many fascinating conversations in the homes of Brisbane creatives from a variety of disciplines. We look forward to sharing these stories with you over the coming months.

Today’s feature with Marni Stuart (Franks) of Thousand Dancers lingerie is a unique insight into her life as a textile designer. From creativity to running a business, we had an amazing conversation with Marni in her Brisbane home studio.

There was so much amazing footage that we will continue her story with part 2 delving into how she works and how she keeps up her creative fuel. We’ll also explore a little more of the beautiful Queenslander she calls home.
