How have you got to where you are today? I have always been interested in photography and the arts from a very early age. I loved studying it at school. I then went on to study fine arts and crafts at TAFE, and this is where my passion for photography began.

I taught myself by watching tutorials online, reading through blogs and researching online and in magazines and books. I think I always had it in me to be a photographer, but I needed that creative inspiration from my fine arts course. It helped me get to where I am today.

In a few words, decribe yourself… Ambitious, determined, creative, romantic and honest.

What are you spending your time on at the moment? I just finished a project called Coin Laundry Love. It’s a video that my partner and I put together about a boy and a girl meeting a laundromat and then going out on a date afterwards.

I’ve had the idea for so long now, and it took a long time to plan aswell. Most of the planning, was waiting for the right couple to shoot it with. And they were right infront of me the whole time – our friends Marie and Peter. The video is a lot different to what we usually film, as most of our videos are behind the scenes or highlights to a photoshoot or wedding. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Do you have a ritual for getting into the creative mindset? Or a creative process? Plenty of research is the key for me. I like to plan my shoots with lots of reading through books, magazines, blogs, websites and things around me that get me inspired, and prepared for my photoshoots.

What or who inspires you? There are so many photographers, musicians and artists out there that inspire me. It’s hard to narrow it down to just a few. But I’d have to say my partner, Geoff Franklin. He does photography and videography with me at weddings and some photoshoots. He’s amazing and always supports me with my work and dreams.

And there’s also, Andrew Goodall from Natures Image Photography. He helped me right back when I was starting out with photography. He taught me tricks, tips and gave me lots of important information when starting out as a photographer. I’ll be forever grateful for his guidance.

I’m also inspired by dance, music, anything vintage, travelling and my love of different cultures around the world.

What are you most proud of? My next project. It means I have finished the last project and I can start the inspiring creative process again with something new and fresh!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a chef before I became a photographer. I think I was better at photography than cooking!
