Behind the scenes with Matthew James of Thought & Process
The Design Montage team spoke to graphic designer Matthew James of Thought & Process in his Brisbane home. Matt talks openly about fostering client relationships and the challenges of the design process; and how this process has changed over his career.
Matt is well respected in the industry among peers and is on the Queensland Council of AGDA. His career began in design agencies in the UK during the mid 90’s after completing an MA in Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London. Five years ago, Matt moved to Brisbane and co-founded Left, Right, and Centre, a boutique brand and design firm. Although successful, in mid-2013 Matt made the move to work independently again under the new name of Thought & Process.
Matt’s work has been published in international design books and print journals, along with online features on Desktop, Creative Review, and Design Week.
Some of the books featured on Matt’s desk include Do Improvise, Do Disrupt and Debbie Millman’s Brand Thinking.
